Day 1  BANGKOK

In Bangkok we will stay at the Dynasty Inn. On the morning of day 1 we ask you to take the morning off to relax and unwind as your flight will catch up with you. You will learn your new surrounding and then you will be taken to some of the street markets.

 

Day 2  BANGKOK

On day 2 we will take a long tail boat trip up the Chao Phraya river, detouring up the narrow canals to visit a floating market.  It is a very interesting way of life with these locals, we pass many old temples, the most famous being Wat Arun, or Temple of the Dawn, one of the best known landmarks and one of the most published images of Bangkok.  We will also sail past the Grand Palace.

 

Day 3  BANGKOK

On day 3 we will take a mini-van to Ayuthaya, the old ruined former capital city that existed from 1351 to 1767. Ayutthaya was friendly towards foreign traders it was described as one of the biggest and wealthiest cities in the East. We will return by long tail boat and get a sky train back to the hotel.

 

Day 4 BANGKOK - PATTAYA

On day 4 we take a minibus to Pattaya. Here we offer you a free afternoon for shopping or relaxation, there are over 5000 bars in Pattaya & a lot of shopping. We also have other activities on offer at an extra charge for those of you who enjoy a bit more excitement such as the Tree tops in Pattaya, paragliding or snorkelling.  Please enquire if these activities are of interest to you and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. In the evening we are off to Ripley's "Believe it or Not".

 

Day 5 PATTAYA

In Pattaya we will stay at Nature View Hotel, on day 5 we are off to Sriracha Tiger Park.  At this park there are three shows - a tiger show, a crocodile show and an elephant show (very funny and probably the best we've seen) At Sriracha there is the option to have your photo taken with all animals for a small fee.  Here lunch is included.

 

Day 6 PATTAYA

On day 6 we will take a minivan to the Pattaya elephant village where elephants are raised and looked after. This includes a one hour elephant ride through the jungle where you can sample sumptuous tropical fruit such as Rambutan, Mangosteen, Jackfruit and a host of other probably unfamiliar fruit.  Here there is also the opportunity to see how silk is produced.

 

Day 7 PATTAYA

On day 7 we will visit Nong Nooch Tropical gardens - these gardens are world renowned for their impressive Elephant and Thai Cultural Shows, along with what is largely considered the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia - 600 acres of pure paradise. There are two shows on this outing - a fantastic cultural show and an elephant show and for a small fee you can travel around the gardens in an open air bus.  Be sure to take your camera.

 

Day 8 PATTAYA

On day 8 parasailing & jet skiing are available for those who wish, and for the really brave there is the highest flying fox in Asia, off the Pattaya Tower. (Additional costs apply). We also have a variety of other options available, last minute shopping all you need to do is ask and we will accommodate you.

 

Day 9 PATTAYA - BANGKOK

On day 9 we will return to Bangkok for a fair well party at night time.

 

Day 10 BANGKOK - NEW ZEALAND

Here we have time for some last minute shopping, then a late afternoon mini-bus van back to the airport and a flight back to New Zealand.

Day 1  BANGKOK

In Bangkok we will stay at the Dynasty Inn. On day 1 we offer you the opportunity to take the morning off to relax and unwind as your flight will catch up with you.  In the afternoon you will be taken to see the Grand Palace, you will need to wear respectable clothes and footwear. Then for those of you who wish to, you will be taken to some of the largest shopping malls in Asia where you can buy just about anything.  A shoppers Heaven !

 

Day 2  BANGKOK

Please enquire if these activities are of interest to you and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.  In the evening you will be taken by taxi to the waterfront, where you will have a superb dinner and cabaret show on the floating restaurant, Oriental Star.  The meal will be at your expense but is very reasonably priced and the food is exquisite.

 

Day 5 PATTAYA

On day 5 we offer you a free morning.  In the afternoon we will take a bus trip to Nong Nooch Tropical Gardens. These gardens are world renowned for their impressive Elephant and Thai Cultural Shows, along with what is largely considered the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in Southeast Asia - 600 acres of pure paradise. Day 6 PATTAYA

Day 8 PATTAYA - CHIANG MAI

On day 8 we will fly to Chiang Mai, where we will stay at The Lana Hotel here you have an afternoon free to explore this fabulous old city.  There are numerous 'wats' or monastery temples that are well worth visiting.

 

Day 9 CHIANG MAI

On day 9 we will minivan into the mountains to Doi Suthep Temple, with spectacular views of Chiang Mai.  On our return down the mountain we will have a short trip to the long neck village where the Karen tribe live. The ladies are very obliging in having their photos taken with you, and you will learn about the significance of the rings around there neck. Skirting around Chiang Mai, our last stop is the umbrella village, which is well worth the trip for the arts and crafts.  They will paint a picture on your camera case, T-shirt, Hat etc for a small fee.  Items can be purchased from a small souvenir shop.

 

Day 10 CHIANG MAI

On day 10 for those of you who wish to learn how to cook the fabulous Thai food in the traditional way, this is a must and you will have heaps of fun meeting people from around the world.  You will be picked up at your hotel, taken to the market where you will purchase some ingredients for your meals, then return to the cooking school where Thai chefs teach you how to cook a selection of Thai dishes, which you will then get to eat. This all-day course starts around 9am untill about 3.30pm when you will be taken back to your hotel. Those who do not wish to participate will have alternative activities planned.

 

Day 11 CHIANG MAI - CHIANG RAI

On day 11 we take an air-conditioned first-class bus to Chiang Rai, where we will stay at The Moon & Sun Hotel.  Here you are offered a free afternoon to relax at the hotel or explore the city.

 

Day 12 CHIANG RAI - GOLDEN TRIANGLE - CHIANG RAI

On day 12 we minibus to Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet at the Mekong River to visit the opium museums and stalls. We will drive through Mai Sai - the northernmost town in Thailand and then up into the mountains where you will view tea plantations and stop at an Old Chinese village situated at the highest point of the top of the mountains.

 

Day 13 CHIANG RAI - CHIANG MAI

On day 13 we will bus back to Chiang Mai then take our flights back to Bangkok.

 

Day 14 BANGKOK - NEW ZEALAND

Day 14 sees us catching some last minute shopping or relaxation, your choice as always. We will then minibus to Suvarnabhumi International Airport in the late afternoon for our flight back to New Zealand.

Day 1 BANGKOK

Day 12 CHAING RAI – MAE HONG SON

On day 12 we take an air-conditioned bus through many villages and mountains, to Mae-Hong Son.  Upon arrival we will stay at the five star Fern Resort, awarded "The award of excellence" as "The Best Resort" by the Tourism Authority of Thailand. This resort is nestled in a lush valley just outside the town, in the mountains of Northern Thailand, this truly is a magical place especially for nature lovers! The sounds of running water and the peaceful jungle setting is pure relaxation.

 

Day 13 MAE HONG SON

On day 13 we will spend the day exploring the town of Mae Hong Son which is one of the northern provinces of Thailand, and at the same time the westernmost. Mae Hong Son is one of the dream destinations for visitors, attracted by the spectacular scenery, including the picturesque lake, numerous hill tribe communities and soft adventure opportunities  and of course the all important wats (temples). Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu (aka Wat Phai Doi) overlooks the town from the west and offers superb views.

 

Day 14 MAE HONG SON – CHIANG MAI

On day 14 we travel from Mae Hong Son back to Chiang Mai on a first class air-conditioned minibus.

 

Day 15 CHIANG MAI - SUKOTHAI

On day 15, on a first class air-conditioned minibus, we travel to Sukothai, here we will stay at The Five Star Ruean Thai Hotel This resort is in a peaceful and beautiful location a short 5 minute drive from the Sukhothai Historical Park.

 

Day 16 SUKOTHAI

On day 16 we will spend the day exploring the ruins of the old city, which was the first capital of Thailand dating back to the 9th century and is famous for the extensive historical ruins, which after restoration, became a Unesco World Heritage Site. The Sukhothai Historical Park is the most interesting place to visit. The Park houses many significant ruins and temples, there are a number of things to see like the Royal palace, the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, Wat Sa Si,the Ramkhamhaeng Monument and much more. Wayne your friendly tour guide will advise on the best not just the most popular sites to visit, this area will be explored on pushbikes.

 

Day 17 SUKOTHAI - BANGKOK

On day 17 we will return to Bangkok via our air-conditioned bus for a fair well themed night time party.

Day 18 SUKOTHAI - BANGKOK

Day 18 offers you a chance to get some last minute shopping in, in some of the largest shopping malls in the world.  We will depart from the airport at 4pm.
